Ohio Idol Season 2 first round of live auditions will be held in three different cities in Ohio for the first time. Ohio Idol contestants will have the opportunity to audition live at the city of their choice: June 1st (Cleveland Area); June 8th (Columbus Area); June 15th (Cincinnati/Dayton Area)

Those who dream of seeing their name in lights won’t want to miss season 2 auditions of Ohio Idol.
Ohio Idol is a statewide vocal competition exclusively for Ohio residents who are 12 years of age and older. Contestants can compete to win $10,000 cash, a recording contract and will be the featured performer on the 2013-14 Ohio Idol state tour.
“There is so much talent here in Ohio that we never get to see on TV,” said Steve Wise, President of InTune Promotions and show creator. “We want to give the talented residents of Ohio a place to showcase their talent, get performance experience and professional guidance. Our industry judges, along with the cash prize and recording contract, are keys to helping talented singers get on their way to a professional career.”
The Ohio Idol competition will consist of four rounds of auditions. The first round will be held at Garfield Middle School, 13114 Detroit Avenue in Lakewood Ohio. There will also be round one competitions held in Columbus and Cincinnati. More information can be found on www.ohio-idol.com.
During the first round of auditions, everyone registrant will have the opportunity to sing in front of a panel of judges.
The Top 100 singers will be invited to audition in the second round, which will be held in front of a live audience over a two-day period. Fifty will be performing on each day. This event is open to the public.
The third round will be showcasing the Top 50 singers from the state of Ohio, performing live in front of thousands at this years’ Red White & Boom Independence Day event held in Columbus.
The Top 10 will advance to the Finale.
The Finale: The Top 10 will perform live on the Main street stage at The Ohio State Fair. This is where the winner will be announced and we will find out who will be in our Top 5 to continue on to tour the state of Ohio for the following year.
Those who wish to compete must fulfill the following criteria:
*Must be 12 years of age or older by June 1, 2013. * Must be a resident of Ohio. Proof of residency required * Must not be under contract with an agent or record company. Ohio Idol Champ Abby Boland wow’d a packed Progressive Field ballpark on Aug. 24 with her rendition of the National Anthem. The televised ball game featured an Indians/Yankees match-up. Boland was accompanied down on the field with Ohio Idol CEO Steve Wise, Idol host Jami Kinton and her parents. The Idol staff has been overwhelmed with positive feedback after a flawless performance. Way to go, Abby!

What a weekend Ohio Idol had bringing in the New Year. It all started on Friday morning with a live interview from Johnny Dileretto from ABC6 & FOX28 Good Day Columbus show. Jami Kinton was interviewd and Taylor Johns performed on live television and they both did an amazing job. On Saturday we had a dress rehearsle for the First Night Has Talent competition from noon to 3pm, after watching all of the contestants perform I knew that it was going to be a very special evening. The amount of talent in this one competition was incredible. I can’t wait to see all the talent pour in from all over this great state of OHIO!!!
